Knitted Wire Mesh Removable and Reusable Insulation
The world leader in engineered knitted wire mesh solutions, ACS Industries, Inc. manufactures and distributes knitted wire mesh for removable & reusable insulation blankets, covers and jackets. The one-stop source for R&R insulation products, we also stock a complete line of related hardware and accessories.Insulation Mesh
High-Temperature Sewing Thread
One of the two preferred removable and reusable insulation assembly methods, high-temperature sewing thread is manufactured from ultra-fine wire and a coating to facilitate sewing. Click here for more information on high-temperature sewing thread.
Silicone, Heat Treated & Teflon Fiberglass Cloths
ACS Industries, Inc. also stocks removable and reusable insulation cloths. Made from silica fiber or Teflon coated materials, these high-temperature fabrics cover the knitted wire mesh insulation and protect it from harmful elements such as moisture. For most applications, a plain fiberglass usually meets both operating and cost requirements.
Draw Cord, Hollow & Solid Mesh Cable
Stainless steel draw cord a derivative of calendared mesh & mesh core cable and used to fasten R&R pad flaps and seams. Manufactured from wire types chosen to match specific operating requirements such as temperature extremes, our hollow and solid mesh cables can be matched to any application.
Lacing Anchors
Used to attach and secure R&R insulation to the areas it insulates, lacing anchors are essentially large nails with hooked heads. During installation, an anchor is pushed through the front of a blanket so that the hooked head is snug against it. Made from durable 304 stainless steel and available in 12 or 14 gauge wire sizes, lacing anchors come in both standard and custom lengths.
Quilting Pins
Essentially hook-less lacing anchors, quilting pins secure the insulation inside the blanket in place to prevent the insulation from settling down and maintaining a continuous envelope of thermal protection. Like lacing anchors, quilting pins are pushed into the blanket so that the 1” x .015” round head is snug against it. Other than the head, quilting pins are available in the same dimensions as lacing anchors.
Self-Locking Speed Washers
Self-locking speed washers are used on both lacing anchors and quilting pins, ensuring that the R&R insulation pads are held tightly on the nails. Made from the same 1 – 1 ½” x .015” plates as a quilting pin’s head, the washer come with 12 or 14 gauge friction holes stamped in their centers. Speed washers are also available with dome capes on them to cover the sharp end of lacing anchor or quilting pin they hold in place. Two-hole washers, nail-less hooks and zinc plated lacing rings are also available.
D-Rings
Made from 8 gauge polished 304 stainless steel, D-Rings are welded and available in 1” and 1.5” widths. They are used as buckles when a strapping system is utilized to hold the blankets in place.
ID-Tags
Used for stamping or screening critical identification information, ID-Tags are 1.5” x 3.5,” made from 26 gauge stainless steel and finished with 2B coating. The tags feature two 3/16” holes centered on each end for fastening.
Hog Rings
The most common R&R insulation assembly method, hog ring fasteners or “C-ring” staples secure exterior fabrics over knitted wire mesh insulation. Manufactured from 16 gauge stainless steel, these fasteners come in 1/2” and 3/4” sizes. All hog rings are bonded with a heat-set tape to facilitate magazine loading and maintain service temperatures of 1,200°F.
Hog Ring Guns
ACS Industries, Inc. also supplies pneumatic hog ring guns. Outfitted with magazine loaders, cushioned grips, contoured trigger guards and standard 1/8” NPT (1/4” NPT – Optional) air inlets; our guns are compatible with 1/2” & 3/4” hog rings.
Tie Wire
ACS Industries, Inc. also manufactures a full line of tie wire. With wire types selected to match specific operational requirements such as temperature, we supply tie wire for every application.
